
Isabel Silvestre, Ph.D., received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Lisbon, Portugal and received her Ph.D. from the University of Porto, Portugal and University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship in cancer immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno, she joined as faculty in 2008. In 2013 and 2014, Dr. Silvestre served as the scientific director of Simmaron Research, Inc., a non-profit foundation that has a mission to benefit patients with neuroimmune diseases, and as a scientist to The Edward P. Evans Foundation, NY. She has more than 18 years of experience studying the biology of NK cells and other immune cells and their applications in pre-clinical and clinical immunotherapy with peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of numerous societies such as the American Association of Immunologists, Society for Natural Immunity and a member of the International Association for ME/CFS. She is a reviewer of journals and foundation and pharmaceutical grants. Dr. Silvestre has received several awards through her career.
